I've been doing Yayo's for many years. Before this last visit, it had been a few years since my previous visit. That was because the quality of the food had diminished from the quality of their food that I had known since "forever". The occasion was my Birthday, and our family has always "done dinner" at out favorite restaurants. My mother had suggested "Yayo's" since it had been quite some time since the last time we had been there. It didn't matter where we would go, as long as I was with the most important people in my life. I'm happy to say that the food has returned to it's quality status! Everything was wonderful. The staff was great and attentive. Yayo (the 36 5th Ave location) is once again at the top of my restaurant list

They serve the best Rice&Beans! They always have great lunch specials that are price reasonably. A place to go for Great Spanish Food.

I've been eating here for years. I order the Beef Stew w/ Yellow rice, Black Beans and sliced Avocado. The Skirt Steaks are really tasty too. I love that they have the old time Spanish Soda pop in the glass.

The devil is in the details, and while I'm sure that these details will cause you to roll your eyes, that I walked inside from a humid day into a cooled establishment with ice cold water won me without having even looked at the menu. LOL But on a serious note; the environment was pleasant and accommodating. The staff was friendly and ready to make your experience comfortable. They accommodated my menu particularities (not that I had many at all, mind you), and the drinks were top notch. The only gripe I might have was that I thought my food could've been warmer; I found some of my items borderline cool. However, none of it was bad enough to make me complain. Yet the tastes were phenomenal! Real nice food and a sweet time with my love. I recommend them and I hope they'll have a dance floor downstairs by the time I come back to Yaya in the future!

The food is good, the space is beautiful. The space was recently renovated , and it looks the same honestly. The food is so expensive now, I paid 18 dollars for rice beans and a salad. The food is good but it's not THAT good. There's ac and the workers are friendly that's why I bumped it up to 4 stars
